Why become an examiner?
The College invites Members to become examiners for future examination periods. Examining contributes to high-quality examinations and is a valued chance to meet new colleagues. It is a commitment not to be taken lightly, but is hugely rewarding. You can examine for your own subject, or take part as an observer.
How it works
Email the Examinations Officer to put your name forward as an examiner or observer for your subject.
Take part in College workshops covering blueprinting, writing higher-order questions, rubrics and multiple-choice questions.

Subject Standards & Examination Committees
Each subject chapter has two committees that share responsibility for guidelines and exams, with succession planning.
Subject Standards Committee (SSC)

Reviews and updates the Subject Guidelines (ideally every three years, maximum five).

Promotes mentoring and candidate preparation.
✓
Reviews Fellowship Activity Logs, publications and Credentials Documents.
Subject Examination Committee (SEC)
✓
Designs, constructs, reviews and delivers written, practical and oral examinations.
✓
Develops marking schemes and question banks.
✓
Considers examiner and candidate feedback.
