What is Fellowship?
The award of Fellowship of the College is conferred upon a veterinarian who is eligible to sit and successfully passes an examination in a given Fellowship subject. Fellowship implies the awardee has sufficient knowledge and experience in a particular area of veterinary science to be acknowledged as a specialist or consultant in that area. The content of the examination is defined by both the subject title and the subject guidelines.
The pathway to Fellowship
Confirm you meet the prerequisites for your chosen Fellowship subject and secure an approved registered supervisor.
Train under your supervisor, maintaining activity logs of your cases, body systems and technical procedures.
Complete required training rotations, externships, presentations and publications; submit annual supervisor and candidate reports.
Lodge your credentials document by 31 October — no credentials are accepted after this date.
Paper 1 (2 June), Paper 2 (3 June), practical (20 June) and oral (21 June 2026).
On success, be acknowledged as a specialist or consultant (FANZCVS), and maintain your credential through recredentialling.
The training program
Fellowship is earned through a structured, supervised training program. Candidates train under an approved supervisor, documenting their work through activity logs, supplementary training, and annual reports — before submitting a credentials document for assessment.
